With advances in orthodontics in the last 15-20 years, metal braces are no longer the only kid on the block. Indeed, our expert in braces in Glendale offers a host of orthodontic options.
Options for Braces
• Metal braces: This option is still widely available and is the only option for some dental problem. Their impact on physical appearance, however, is significant.
• Ceramic braces: Similar in design to metal braces, they offer a slightly more discreet treatment by the placement of tooth-colored ceramic brackets on the teeth.
• Damon clear braces: Like ceramic braces, they offer a transparent alternative to metal attachments to the teeth and do not require rubber bands to hold the arch wire to the brackets.
• Lingual braces: Very discreet, these braces are attached to the backs of the teeth. Unfortunately, there are many dental problems that cannot be addressed with these.
• Invisalign or other clear aligners: This alternative to braces are not braces at all. They are actually removable clear aligners that are traded out every two weeks or so, slowly nudging the teeth along. Unfortunately, these cannot be used for all patients.
The abundance of orthodontic treatment options have made straight teeth something more appealing to patients of all ages, including working professionals. To find out which option works best for you, contact our Glendale dentists.
