Steps in Getting Veneers

Veneers can be a great, permanent solution to correct minor cosmetic imperfections in your smile. Discolored teeth can look whiter and more evenly colored, crooked and misshapen teeth can be made more even, and cracked teeth can be covered. Getting veneers can take several appointments over a couple of weeks, so it is important to talk with your dental veneers dentist in Los Angeles about your options for a smile makeover.

At the first appointment, your dentist will complete an evaluation to see if you are a good candidate for veneers. If so, you and your dentist can agree on a color for your new look. At the next appointment, your dentist will prepare your teeth for the veneers. Part of the enamel will be removed to make room for the veneers. Your dentist will take an impression to send to the lab to have the veneers made. It can take a week or two for the veneers to come back, so you dentist may place temporary veneers until the permanent ones arrive.

Once the veneers are made, your dentist will check each one for proper size and placement. Any corrections will be made, then the veneers can be attached.
