Several types of crowns are available for restoring teeth that can be used when a tooth is damaged, badly decayed or has undergone root canal treatment. Metal, porcelain fused to metal, and porcelain alone are the most commonly used materials. Traditionally, crowns have required two dental visits to complete. Luckily, we have the option of using CEREC crowns.
CEREC crowns are made entirely of porcelain for a more attractive restoration. The porcelain is milled from a single block of ceramic and created right in our office while you wait. Since the ceramic tooth is made the same day as treatment, you will not need to wear a temporary crown or wait for the dental laboratory. This limits the amount of anesthetic you need, as well as the amount of time you will spend in the dental chair. You will leave our office with your new crown in place to show off and use normally.
You may be a candidate for a CEREC crown if you have functional, structural or cosmetic flaws that require restoration. CEREC crowns can be good options for those who have time constraints or concerns. Reading
